Frequently Asked Questions about Suntied Golf Cart Solar Systems

Here are some answers to some of the most common questions we get about the Suntied Solar golf cart solar charging systems.

Will the Suntied Solar Roller Golf Cart Solar Charging System hurt my golf cart's battery?

Nope. The low amperage solar charging flow produced from our carefully calibrated solar charge controller is better for your battery than traditional plug-in wall chargers. Heat is a battery's enemy and the slower solar charge provided by Suntied kits keeps batteries cool and happy. This is true for traditional flooded lead-acid batteries, gel/AGM, Lithium Phosphate (LiFePO4), and Lithium-Ion (Li-ion).

Charging batteries with solar is becoming extremely popular in RV, boating, and residential off-grid systems. Many home solar systems are providing power during the day to battery banks just like the one's found in your golf cart. The technology is well tested, safe and quite common. We simply just apply this trusted technology to your battery bank on wheels.

What kind of a range boost should I expect from golf cart solar?

We offer single, dual and three panel setups which will provide between 4 and 12 extra miles of travel per sunny day for the average cart. Of course, solar output varies primarily based on how long your cart is in the sun, time of year, temperature, shade, and cloud cover. Range is effected primarily by speed traveled, the size of the cart, number of passengers, the battery bank's condition, and terrain. Regardless of all these factors, a Suntied solar system that is sized correctly for your cart will make a noticeable difference in range.
